Qatari Organisations Launch One Goal Arabia Youth Programme

November 5, 2021

The Qatar Football Association (QFA), Generation Amazing and Aurora for Training and Development have teamed up to create “One Goal Arabia”, a new youth development programme that will empower 16 to 17-year-old footballers with the necessary skills to become role models who can inspire others in their countries and become future leaders.

QFA Secretary General, Mansoor Al Ansari, said that the initiative is important and meaningful to all organisations involved, as well as being a crucial milestone for empowering youth and supporting their growth. One Goal Arabia is part of Beyond Sport Global Award Shortlister, Generation Amazing, and Aurora’s joint commitment to create educational programmes to support youth through football.

“Sport for development education is an invaluable tool in developing compassionate, resourceful and self-aware leaders who can inspire sustainable attitudes and help navigate their communities through the challenging times that lie ahead,” said Amani Ali Qadi, Founder of Aurora for Training and Development.

Some description

As part of the celebrations for the upcoming FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, One Goal Arabia aims to collaborate with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and Confederation of African Football (CAF) to develop a network of young Arab footballers who are committed to driving real social change through football-focused activities. Djibouti, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan are part of CAF member associations that will benefit from the development program.

“The Arab Cup is not only an opportunity to unite our national teams and fans, but it is also our duty to leave a positive footprint for the leaders of tomorrow through such programmes. I am confident that the knowledge and expertise the participants will gain from this experience will also be shared with their schools and communities once they safely return to their homes,” said Mansoor Ali Ansari. “We look forward to hosting these young professionals and are proud to empower them towards becoming tomorrow’s ambassadors and leaders.”

The training programme, which will be implemented with the support of leading educators in the field of sport for development will compose of five main areas. Each focus area is designed to engage stakeholders in the development of young people by encouraging collaboration for social impact and prosperity in their respective societies. Upon completion of the program, the players are encouraged and expected to be equipped to work with their national associations and local organisations to share the value of football for development with their peers.

As part of its activation, One Goal Arabia will be celebrated during the FIFA Arab Cup, which runs from November 30 to December 18. The programme will also be included in the upcoming Generation Amazing Youth Festival, which will be held in Qatar during the tournament.
