Adidas athletes, Patrick Mahomes (NFL, Kansas City Chiefs), Aliyah Boston (WNBA, Indiana Fever) and Anthony Edwards (NBA, Minnesota Timberwolves) feature in the brand’s newest campaign to inspire younger generations to remember the simple joys of sport — even under pressure. It is the latest chapter of adidas’ ongoing initiative to help athletes handle negative pressures in sport through the brand’s positive rallying cry, You Got This.

A recent study by adidas and leading sport neuroscientists, neuro11, revealed that elite athletes are 40% more effective than grassroots athletes at managing pressure in high-stake moments. Dr Niklas Häusler, co-founder of neuro11 says, “While pressure looks and feels different for everyone, there is a scientific sweet spot in the brain that all can reach – the optimal zone, commonly referred to as “being in the zone.” This is where the brain is physically relaxed but mentally focused, leading to optimal movement and performance.”

The global You Got This campaign unites a wide range of sporting icons to demonstrate how they handle pressure in some of the most high-stakes moments, inspiring everyday athletes to do the same. Coming to life through athlete stories, the campaign highlights the importance of self-belief, showcasing how those at the top of their game channel confidence and encouraging the next generation to do the same. Using the research, adidas also released tools and techniques to help empower everyone to disarm pressure in sport.

“Pressure is a part of the game, but it doesn’t have to control you,” said Mahomes. “My best advice is simple: it’s only a throw — or a catch, or a kick — so trust yourself and enjoy the moment. I’m excited to be part of an adidas campaign that inspires young athletes to keep the game fun and not let pressure take that away.”

Mahomes, Boston and Edwards provide words of encouragement to young athletes in pressure-packed sporting moments in the newest You Got This film against the soundtrack of Queen featuring David Bowie’s iconic Under Pressure. It shows each athlete inspiring the next generation to believe in themselves and embrace fun to overcome pressure in their respective sports.

Boston has spoken on the pressures of pro basketball as well as the added pressure of being a woman basketball player. She explains it’s about embracing the journey, but also prioritizing mental health and not letting outside voices take over because basketball is supposed to be fun.

“Thinking back to those days playing basketball as a kid, I remember how simple the game felt. As a professional player, the pressure can be intense, but it’s also a chance to bring my game to new heights. When you embrace every challenge, on and off the court, you can rediscover the joy in the game and perform at your best,” said Boston.
